Internships

PROVE YOUR CRAFT. EARN YOUR PLACE.

Iron Pillar Studios is assembling a team of artists who combine strong fundamentals with modern tools. We value craft first — and we respect artists who know how to leverage AI to work faster without compromising quality. Every role here is an internship with real production responsibilities, real mentorship, and a direct path to compensation as the project grows.

The Deal

HOW COMPENSATION WORKS

We're a pre-revenue studio building something real. All current positions are internships — unpaid upfront, with compensation tied directly to the project's success. As Alyria generates revenue through Kickstarter, community engagement, donations, and eventual sales, contributors who helped build it will be compensated accordingly.

This isn't a promise made lightly. It's the foundation of how we operate: those who build with us share in what we build. Your contribution is tracked, recognised, and honoured.

01

KICKSTARTER & CROWDFUNDING

When we launch our campaign, contributors receive payouts proportional to their role and contribution during development.

02

COMMUNITY & DONOR SUPPORT

Revenue from community donations, Patreon-style backing, and engagement milestones flows back to the team that made it possible.

03

GAME REVENUE

When Alyria ships and sells, internship contributors who helped build it are included in revenue distribution based on their involvement.

Standards

WHAT WE EXPECT

CRAFT FIRST

You understand your discipline. AI is a force multiplier — not a replacement for fundamentals. We want artists who know what good looks like before they prompt for it.

AI-AUGMENTED WORKFLOW

You treat AI tools as part of your pipeline, not a novelty. Whether it's texture generation, concepting, retopology, or iteration speed — you use what works.

TEAM DISCIPLINE

Remote doesn't mean alone. You communicate clearly, hit your milestones, and hold yourself to the same standard you'd expect from the person next to you.

HUNGER

This is a ground-floor opportunity. We want people who see that clearly — who show up because the work matters to them, not because someone told them to.

CURRENT ROLES

ENVIRONMENT ARTIST

Art/Remote/Internship
Apply

Build the forests, outposts, and dungeons of Alyria using modular environment kits in our Arcane-influenced painterly style. We expect strong fundamentals in 3D modelling, texturing, and composition — and the ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate iteration without sacrificing craft.

CONCEPT ARTIST

Art/Remote/Internship
Apply

Translate Alyria's world-building documents into compelling visual concepts — characters, architecture, props, and biomes. You should have a strong traditional art foundation and know how to use AI-assisted workflows (Stable Diffusion, ControlNet, etc.) to rapidly explore ideas while maintaining artistic intent and consistency.

3D CHARACTER ARTIST

Art/Remote/Internship
Apply

Model, sculpt, and texture characters and creatures for a stylised-realism pipeline in Unreal Engine 5. Strong anatomy fundamentals and experience with ZBrush, Substance Painter, or equivalent are expected. AI-augmented texturing and retopology workflows are a plus.

TECHNICAL ARTIST

Art / Engineering/Remote/Internship
Apply

Bridge art and engineering across Alyria's Lumen and Nanite rendering pipeline. Shaders, material systems, optimisation, and tooling — you'll have outsized impact on how the game looks and runs. Candidates should understand real-time rendering fundamentals and be comfortable writing tools or scripts that improve production efficiency.

UI / UX ARTIST

Art / Design/Remote/Internship
Apply

Design and implement Alyria's in-game HUD, menus, and inventory systems with a focus on clarity, atmosphere, and player flow. Experience with UMG in Unreal or equivalent UI frameworks is valuable. We want interfaces that feel like part of the world, not layered on top of it.

VFX ARTIST

Art/Remote/Internship
Apply

Create real-time visual effects for combat, alchemy, environment, and weather systems in Niagara. Strong understanding of particle behaviour, timing, and colour theory required. Your work will define how every spell, explosion, and potion brew feels in the player's hands.

JUNIOR ARTIST — PORTFOLIO BUILDER

Art/Remote/Internship
Apply

An open role for emerging artists who want real production experience on a live game project. You'll work alongside senior artists, receive direct mentorship, contribute to shipped assets, and build a portfolio that proves you can deliver in a team environment. Bring hunger, discipline, and a willingness to learn at pace.

For Emerging Artists

BUILD YOUR PORTFOLIO ON A REAL PROJECT

If you're a junior artist looking for production experience, mentorship, and portfolio pieces that actually ship — this is your entry point. We don't care about degrees. We care about discipline, growth rate, and whether your work speaks for itself.
